Networking for business in New Plymouth – Update

In Oct 2014 I wrote a blog about networking for business in New Plymouth. One of the groups has recently had a big change so I thought I’d revisit the topic.

The New Plymouth Business & Professional Women’s Network has relaunched as “The Network” and C7 is proud to be the design partner/sponsor.

In the last year the Facebook group grew from around 350 members to well over 1,000. The monthly lunches at Arborio went from 20-30 people to 60-70 each time and other events increased as well. The administrators of the group decided to organise a new brand for the group to formalise the direction the group was headed in and give it a professional look. They approached C7 Design to create the logo and branding for this and we were glad to assist. A new directory website was created by Casey at Design Garage. The directory website enables people to easily find other businesses in Taranaki and for members to showcase their work in a mini-portfolio site. This is especially great for start-up businesses who mightn’t have their own website yet. Check it out here thenetworkinc.co.nz

The group is shifting to a paid membership model but at prices from $80 + gst a year for a business we think it is well worth it, with great ROI. The group will run as a not-for-profit so any money that accumulates will go back in to running events, seminars and training for the members.

If you are a woman in business in Taranaki you’d be crazy not to join (in my humble opinion)! If you’re a man then send along your female colleagues so they can represent your business.
