Happy 2015 everyone!

By now many of you will be back to work or starting again on Monday. Hopefully you’ve had a week or 2 off to relax and unwind. Getting back to work can be a bit of a shock to the system though and the holidays never seem long enough! Here are some tips to ease back in and  hold on to the holiday feeling a little bit longer.

1. Plan your next holiday

It’s always nice to have something to look forward to. Even if you can’t afford that cruise through the Med, it’s free to dream!

2.  Set aside time for reading

Reading a book is something that often just gets relegated to the holidays. TV is pretty rubbish at this time of year so why not continue some reading. Even better set up a hammock or lounger in the garden. Reading can be a great way to escape.

3. Sleep in and don’t feel guilty about it

Of course this only works on the weekend or if you’re self employed!

4. Explore a new part of town

Unleash the sense of holiday adventure by going somewhere new.

5. Vary your routine

A big part of being on holiday is a break in routine. Try not to get sucked back in to the daily grind too quickly.

6. Take breaks and get outside

Go for a walk at lunch time and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. If you can, knock off work early and have a picnic at the beach or park.

7. Treat yourself

Light some candles and have a relaxing bath and pretend you’re at a spa or spend some time on your favourite activity. Ignore the housework, it can wait!

Try and keep the holiday feeling as long as you can 🙂
